Vibrating Screen Media and Spring

The vibrating screen check is the media, the springs, and the motor guard, with the screen locked out. The technician writes the as-found reading and compares it with the last one on the asset. Do not stand on the screen deck. Anything past that line belongs to the site's own procedure, the OEM manual, or a permit. This is the inspection ChatterFix schedules. It is not itself permission to go further.

The Procedure

The steps ChatterFix schedules for this PM. Every step is a checkable item on the work order — a technician can speak their way through it without touching a keyboard.

  1. With the screen locked out, inspect media for holes and the springs for breaks
  2. Confirm the motor guard and the hold-down bolts
  3. Look for loose media clamps
  4. Do not stand on the screen deck
  5. A broken spring takes the screen out of service until it is replaced

What Skipping It Looks Like

A broken spring stays in because the deck still moves and standing on it is the fastest way to see. The round still closes, the number never lands on the asset, and the next person inherits a guess. Do not stand on the screen deck.

Setting the interval

Weekly. A broken spring takes the screen out of service until it is replaced. An as-found reading outside the limit the site already published is a finding. It does not become a new setpoint on this work order.
