Built For The Guy On The Floor

Every CMMS demo is given to a manager. Every CMMS rollout is decided by a technician — six weeks later, when they choose whether to keep updating it.

The Problem We Started From

CMMS implementations rarely fail because the software lacked a feature. They fail because the data stops arriving.

The pattern is consistent. A plant buys a system, spends months importing assets, trains the team, and runs well for a few weeks. Then a technician on a bad shift has a choice between fixing the next thing and spending five minutes typing up the last thing on a phone with gloves on. They fix the next thing. Everyone does. Within a quarter the work order history is fiction, the PM completion rate is a number nobody trusts, and the reporting built on top of it is worse than useless — it is confidently wrong.

Nobody in that story did anything unreasonable. The software asked for something expensive at exactly the moment the technician had the least to give.

What We Built Instead

ChatterFix is designed around one constraint: recording the work should cost the technician close to nothing.

That is why voice capture is the primary interface rather than a feature. A technician talks — about what they found, what they replaced, what the reading was — and the system does the structuring. The output is not a transcript; it is typed fields against the right asset, which is what makes the reporting downstream worth reading.

It is also why an industry pack builds your plant in about three minutes. A month of data entry before the system does anything useful is its own adoption killer.

Maintenance, Quality, And Safety Are One Job

On a real plant floor, the person who finds the failing bearing is often the same person who notices the guard is missing and the product coming off the line looks wrong. Splitting that across three systems is an accounting convenience, not a reflection of the work.

ChatterFix keeps maintenance, quality inspections, and safety walks on one asset record. When an auditor asks what happened to a machine, there is one place to look.

What We Publish

The PM library and equipment guides on this site are not marketing content written to rank. They are generated from the industry packs inside the product — the same procedures ChatterFix schedules on customer equipment. Free to read, no signup.

The same goes for the calculators: no email wall, every assumption visible, and the maths runs in your browser. If the ROI does not work for your plant, you should find that out on a calculator rather than six months into a rollout.

Our comparison pages name where competitors are genuinely the better choice. We would rather lose a deal we were wrong for than win one we could not serve.

Where we are

ChatterFix is a working product with paying-customer functionality across maintenance, quality, safety, and inventory, plus live voice capture. Guided VR and smart-glasses procedures are in development and not shipping yet — see features for what is real today. If you want to talk to a person, the contact page goes to a human.

Put This On Your Plant Floor

Pick your industry and ChatterFix builds the equipment hierarchy, PM schedules, quality checklists, and safety inspections to match — in about three minutes.
