Nurse Call Headend Battery Test

The nurse call headend check records the battery state the panel displays and a test call the site procedure names. The technician writes the as-found reading and compares it with the last one on the asset. Do not take the nurse call system down to reseat a card. Anything past that line belongs to the site's own procedure, the OEM manual, or a permit. This is the inspection ChatterFix schedules. It is not itself permission to go further.

The Procedure

The steps ChatterFix schedules for this PM. Every step is a checkable item on the work order — a technician can speak their way through it without touching a keyboard.

  1. Record the headend battery state the panel displays
  2. Confirm the annunciator answers a test call the site procedure names
  3. Check the circuit card seating with the system still in service only if the site allows it
  4. Do not take the nurse call system down to 'just reseat' a card
  5. A failed test call is a finding for the site's clinical engineering procedure

Why This PM Exists

What Skipping It Looks Like

A test call fails on one wing and the headend gets powered off 'for a second' in the middle of the day. The round still closes, the number never lands on the asset, and the next person inherits a guess. Do not take the nurse call system down to reseat a card.

Setting the interval

Every ninety days. A failed test call belongs to the site's clinical engineering procedure. An as-found reading outside the limit the site already published is a finding. It does not become a new setpoint on this work order.
