Defect rates climb steadily through a run and reset mysteriously after a changeover, because the changeover incidentally cleaned the die. Quality chases the resin supplier while the real cause is carbon sitting in the die body.
Monthly is a reasonable default. Heat-sensitive materials and frequent color changes push it shorter; a single-color line running a stable, thermally stable compound can go longer.
